Common Questions

Have questions? We have answers. Can't find what you're looking for? Reach out.

What should I expect in my first session?
Your first session is about getting to know each other. We'll discuss what's bringing you to therapy, your history, and your goals. It's also a chance for you to see if we're a good fit — therapy works best when you feel comfortable with your therapist.
Do you take insurance?
Nope — and that's by design. Insurance companies require mental health diagnoses that become permanent records, decide what "counts" as therapy, and limit how much care you can receive. We chose private-pay so your records stay actually private, you don't need a label to get help, and we can focus on what you actually need — not what an insurer's spreadsheet says. We're happy to work with you to make therapy accessible. Read more about our approach →
What does LGBTQ+ affirming actually mean?
It means more than just being "gay-friendly." We're curious about your experience, supportive of your journey, willing to learn when we miss something, and committed to holding space for all identities and relationship structures. Your identity isn't a problem to be solved — it's part of what makes you, you.
How long does therapy take?
It depends on your goals and what you're working through. Some people find relief in 8-12 sessions. Others prefer ongoing support for deeper work. We'll check in regularly about your progress and adjust as needed. You're in the driver's seat.
What modalities do you use?
We're integrative therapists, which means we draw from multiple evidence-based approaches: Internal Family Systems (IFS), somatic therapy, attachment-based therapy, CBT, DBT, ERP, brainspotting, acceptance therapy, and more. We'll tailor our approach to what works best for you.
Do you offer virtual sessions?
Yes! We offer secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth sessions for clients throughout Georgia. Virtual therapy is just as effective as in-person for many issues, and it offers the convenience of accessing care from your own space.
